Over time, the medicine gradually releases and fights the infection right at the source.
This treatment works especially well for patients who have tried deep cleaning but still have stubborn pockets, or for those with certain types of aggressive gum disease. We typically place the antibiotic during a brief office visit with minimal discomfort. The medication gradually dissolves or resorbs over a few weeks as it works to kill bacteria.
